Established in Denmark in 1933, DEIF is a global leader in the manufacturing and supply of power generation controls for the temporary power, critical power, and microgrid/hybrid power industries. DEIF’s customers are primarily in the Land, Marine & Offshore markets and their headquarters resides in Denmark, with an additional eleven subsidiaries worldwide.

As DEIF continues to expand its US presence, we are looking for a commercially focused Sales Engineer to contribute to the market development activities in Virginia. The Sales Engineer will focus on customers in critical power and data centers and should have technical from the power distribution industry.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with PLCs in a technical-commercial environment. To be successful in the role, the Sales Engineer should thrive in a customer-facing environment where it is crucial to have the ability to provide engineering support to customers and internal sales managers, test DEIF products and develop technical solutions. Reporting to the US Managing Director, the Sales Engineer should be self-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Key Responsibilities
As Sales Engineer, your main responsibility is to generate new business by leveraging your technical knowledge and experience with new and existing customers. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Generate new business opportunities focusing on critical power and data centers
  • Support the sales team in growing customer portfolios by identifying potential customers and assessing customer needs
  • Identify current and future customer product/service requirements by establishing personal rapport with current and potential customers
  • Provide product, technical and engineering support to customers by responding to questions and requests
  • Prepare technical presentations
  • Prepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing sales information and engineering trends
  • Perform tests on DEIF products
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure overall customer satisfaction
  • Carry out administrative tasks related to sales

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering with a commercial background
  • 3+ years of experience from a similar technical/sales role
  • Experience with the distributed power market, critical power, datacenters and PLCs
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-driven with an all-hands-on-deck mentality

Start date: As soon as possible
Salary: Competitive compensation and benefits package
Travel: 20-30%
Location: Remote in VA
