Platform Engineer will be responsible for assessing the as-is engineering of the datacenter, evaluating and analyzing to-be states, and engineering accepted innovation and modernization plans in alignment with the Platform Architect.

• Come up to speed quickly with the existing infrastructure, its limitations, and pain points.
• Propose innovations and projects to increase efficiencies, modernize, and shepherd migrations to cloud where appropriate.
• Assist with scoping, planning, and managing engineering projects to implement approved modernization goals.
• Assist with evaluating inefficiencies with the current operations environments, policies, and processes.
• Assist with application deployments.
• Establish metrics and key performance indicators for existing and future states.
• Provide an effective and efficient interface with various teams.
• Communicate engineering concepts to stakeholders and partners with varying levels of platform engineering knowledge.
• Assist with the Client’s transition to a DevSecOps culture.
• Support modern Kubernetes, Docker, and Jenkins based Platform as a Service.
• Provide subject matter expertise related to enterprise level storage, including Oracle Super Clusters.
• Provide subject matter expertise for moving to an Infrastructure as Code environment.
• Be able to defend analyses and plans during presentations, and throughout any executed projects.
• Assist with maintaining legacy platforms which includes Apache, Oracle WebLogic, Tuxedo, and various others to include one off systems.

• 5+ years’ experience working with large IT datacenter operations
• 5+ years’ experience working with more than one cloud provider, such as AWS or Azure
• 3+ years of experience with Splunk, Ansible, Lambda, Jenkins.
• Strong experience with Oracle databases, Oracle Super Clusters, and MS SQL.
• Demonstrated experience working in an environment where data and storage are measured in petabytes or exabytes.
• Strong ability to write technical documentation for a technical and non-technical audience.
• Strong ability to influence, train, and mentor in relevant areas and skills.

Education:

• BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred

Salary Inforamtion: 

• The pay for this position ranges from $75,000 to $99,000.
• The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
• Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
