As an Etsy Inc. employee, whether a team member of Etsy, Reverb, or Depop, you will tackle unique, meaningful, and large-scale problems alongside passionate coworkers, all the while making a rewarding impact and Keeping Commerce Human.

What’s the role?

Etsy is looking for Senior Full Stack Engineers to join our Content Moderation Integrations team! This team is a part of the Trust and Safety group, focused on protecting Etsy's marketplace and elevating Etsy as a trusted brand. We keep Etsy safe and maintain trust by enforcing Etsy’s member-facing policies, and by detecting and mitigating risk. This team's focus is on integrating detection systems within Etsy and with external partners to cover the most policies and with the fastest detection time.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager, Content Moderation Integrations. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Mexico City office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Candidates living within commutable distance of our Mexico City office or in Guadalajara may be the first to be considered. Learn more details about our work modes and workplace safety policies here.

What’s this team like at Etsy?

Our team is a cross-functional group consisting of an engineering manager, product manager, full-stack engineers, with support from data analytics and operations. This team is fully located in Mexico, with partner teams based in Mexico, the US, and Ireland. Some of our team values are:

  • We work together to form an effective, high-functioning, and fun team.
  • We source ideas and collaborate with other teams.
  • We prioritize speed to learning, building space in our timelines to clean up and iterate.
  • We prioritize equitable treatment, inclusivity, and diversity.

Our product work is mostly in PHP and MySQL. We are proud to have an engineering culture that encourages career growth and learning. You can learn more about our philosophies, tools, and some of the challenges we’ve been solving on our Engineering blog.

What does the day-to-day look like?
  • Building tools and systems to help with our 3rd party Integrations.
  • You will provide leadership and help set the direction for Etsy’s suite of policy violating detection systems, operating as a delivery leader for the Integrations squad;
  • You will collaborate cross-functionally to craft plans that achieve our business goals, while delivering new tools to match our evolving policy needs.
  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • You have a customer-centric mentality while balancing your teams’ desire to grow in skill and scope;
  • You are experienced in integrating internal or external systems, owning the end-to-end pipeline;
