Job Title: Underwriter/Senior Underwriter

Location: Remote in the UK, requirement to commute to a regional office at least twice a month.

Vargo is seeking a commercial Underwriter to join a dynamic financial services organization. You will be responsible for evaluating and assessing loan applications to determine their creditworthiness. You will play a crucial role in managing risk and ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess loan applications to determine creditworthiness and risk levels.
• Analyze financial data, credit reports, and other relevant information to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Evaluate borrower profiles, collateral, and repayment capacity to mitigate risk and ensure loan quality.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including loan officers and credit analysts, to gather necessary information and documentation for underwriting.
• Ensure compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate underwriting decisions effectively to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters as needed.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in underwriting within the financial services industry.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
