Head of Data Science at Competera

In Competera, we are building a place where optimal pricing decisions can be made easily. We believe that AI technologies will soon drive all challenging decisions and are capable of helping humans be better. We are now looking for a Head of Data Scientist to change the way we deliver our solution to customers.

Responsibilities:

1. Own the Competera’s ML Strategy

1.1 Ensure ML Strategy is aligned with Technology, Company and Product Strategies

1.2 Own ML OKRs

2. Collaborate with stakeholders and top management on a regular basis

2.1 Regular stand-ups

2.2 On-demand meetings

2.3 Strategic sessions

3. Participate in regular company meetings as a speaker

4. Communication with customers and their DS/ML teams.

5. Decide whether DS/ML/DA expertise is needed in the teams and be responsible for hirings

6. Mentorship and management of Senior and Lead DS and ML engineers

Requirements:

- Experience in a similar position in the company that moved through the scale-up stage

- Ability to make tough decisions

- Leadership and mentorship

- Optimization of organizational structure

- Experience in the Retail industry

- Worked on tabular and/or Time Series problems

- Knowledge of the current state of MLOps. Applied the MLOps principles on their work

- Experience with Python stack for ML

Desirable requirements:

- Experience in Causal Inference problems

- Experience with Probabilistic Programming

- Experience with optimization problems (marketing spends optimization, price optimization, budgets allocation, etc.)

- Development of XAI (eXplainable AI) in sensitive industries (finance, trading, medicine, insurance, aerospace industry, etc.)

- Experience with entities matching (or deduplication) problems

- Knowledge of System Design best practices and approaches for complex systems

- Knowledge of solutions and cloud architecture for DS and ML in public clouds

Soft skills

Must Have:

- Exceptional human and leadership skills

- Being an inspirational leader and role model

- Public speaking skills

- Ability to explain in 60 seconds to a 70 years old grandma and 5 years old kid of how

AI/Business/Organization/etc. works.

Nice to Have:

- Negotiation skills

- Good understanding of human Psychology
