What You Will Do

The Employment Relations Manager Bilingual is responsible to provide first-level Human Resources support, education and consultation to employees and managers regarding employee relations issues, HR Policy interpretation and Leave of Absence (LOA) management.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Respond via telephone/email to questions regarding employment, compensation, time away from work policies, employee issue resolution, and performance management.
  •  Educate managers and employees on various HR tools and resources.
  • Prepare and deliver training on various HR programs - partnering with appropriate parties where necessary. i.e., HR Essentials, LOA.
  • Diagnose and resolve policy interpretation issues.  Recommend changes or revisions to existing policies, as needed.
  • Investigate complaints and develop an action plan to manage the investigation after reviewing the facts of the case.  Working with the HR Business Partners, interviewing employees, identifying root causes and making recommendations.
  • Coach managers and employees with difficult decisions and discussions, such as termination, employee issues, LOA and performance management.  Assist managers with writing corrective action documentation.
  • Assess nature of incoming issues and respond or determine escalation route based upon level of complexity, urgency and/or severity.
  • Ensure legislative compliance requirements and deadlines are met (i.e., accessibility)

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HR generalist with a comprehensive understanding of applicable legislation
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources
  • CHRL designation is required

  • Ability to listen utilize tact/diplomacy as required depending on complexity and issues at hand
  • Problem solving - address root cause instead of symptoms ability to manage and rank priorities for HR Solutions
