Your missions

We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transaction Group. Boulay’s Transaction Group offers advisory services to help our clients evaluate the risks and rewards of complex business transactions. Our offerings include a range of financial, consulting, and valuation services to help clients achieve their investment objectives. We work with clients in all stages of an investment’s life cycle, including pre-deal diligence and modeling support, post-deal financial reporting guidance, life cycle marks, and investor services.  

The Boulay Transaction Group Manager is responsible for advising our clients with their business transaction needs. You will work directly with Boulay and client executives to assist and at times, lead our internal teams. You will assist in helping our clients understand, analyze, and respond to various business opportunities and challenges. This includes managing multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously with some direct supervision.

Responsibilities:

·         Prepare financial reporting valuations for business combinations, goodwill impairment, indefinite and long-lived asset impairment, stock compensation and embedded derivatives.

·         Provide support to assist clients with their business plan development, strategic investment decisions, or other financial objectives

·         Drafting proposals, letters and other client deliverables

·         Assist in developing and updating firm models

·         Attend conferences and other specialized training to keep the valuation team abreast to best practices

·         Assisting in training newer staff and interns

Requirements

Qualifications and/or Experience Required:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience on valuation engagements
  • 3+ years of experience on financial reporting valuation engagements
  • Understanding of generally accepted valuation approaches (i.e., cost, market and income approach)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and analyze client data

Preferred:

  • Ability to work with complex capital structures or embedded derivatives
  • Working towards ASA, ABV, CFA or similar designation
  • Previous experience in an audit assist/reviewer role
  • Experience with CapitalIQ
  • Prior experience in researching and proposing solutions to complex business, tax and valuation issues
