About NavGurukul:NavGurukul is a not-for-profit founded in 2016, is on a mission to create access to aspirational careers for students from marginalized communities. We are committed to working on profound transformation for our students so they can hold the same jobs and live the life of similar possibilities as people from the top of the pyramid assume. We imagine an equitable higher education alternative where students learn the right skills, mindsets, and the ability to  learn on their own  to thrive in the world. What we do:NavGurukul’s flagship  Residential program  works with learners from underserved communities by providing courses in fields like programming, finance, business, education & design, along with assistance in securing jobs to build aspirational careers. Currently, we are empowering 1145+ students in our fully funded seven residential centers across various states in India. Six of our seven campuses have only female students. The focus on gender is a conscious choice, as inclusion is one of the core principles guiding our choices and focus areas. The residential program is open for students who have finished just 10th grade and are 17 Years of age. So far, we have placed around  830+  students with software jobs in the tech industry with various IT giants and product startups. Our campuses are self-governed spaces that the students manage through elected student bodies. The learning on NavGurukul campuses is guided by  self-paced pedagogy  with a strong focus on  peer learning.Something fundamental is changing with AI becoming a part of daily lives. It changes the very nature of learning as well as employment.

How to know that this role is/isn’t for you?This role is for disruptors who are hungry, curious, and think of problems deeply to bring solutions that are considered innovative and unusual. - If you’re randomly one day asked to learn how to make apps using AI to teach students and deliver the application in a week. Instead of fretting, if you’re someone who can scope out, prioritize, and build a prototype - this is for you. (Why: This would happen on many fine days🙂) - If you are more likely to do things that you don’t know, for the joy of learning new things or trying out new approaches - this is for you. - If you’re a perfectionist, and take time to deliver - this  isn’t  for you.  - If you thrive in delegation, and micromanaging, while building smart systems to track the work quality/delivery - this is for you. - If you feel lazy to do the same work again, and instead automate it, or design a process for it - this is for you. - If you know google sheets enough to know what VLookup and pivot tables are. And when I ask about ArrayFormula, instead of saying no, you take 15 mins to get a headstart to learn the concept by trying it yourself and say yes, instead - this is for you.

What will you do? - You will empower 1200 students learning in our residential center to build English and 21st century skills on their own. Even more importantly, this curriculum & pedagogy will be further used by 1200 students through Zuvy and thousands of other students of partner organizations. - You will enable the team and the students to understand the pedagogy and “learn how to learn”. For an effective self-directed journey, the learner must understand practical aspects of pedagogy to make informed decisions. - You will heavily integrate AI (consistently explore AI tools) and emerging technology - and fuel the same curiosity in all the team members and the students - You will build clear measurable learning experiments, pilot them and quickly scale what is working while learning from what is not.  - You will build an integrated approach to build English and 21st century skills. Including but not limited to - Understanding biases, gender, Values, Technology etc  - You will own the outcomes for English and 21st century skills building in students end to end.  - You will not conform to traditional teaching practices and not let anyone tell you that this is impossible :P

Location -  Hybrid work (Around 30 percent travel)

Compensation & CultureNavGurukul's salaries are at par with most not-for-profits in the country. For this role, the salary bracket is 8.4 to 9.5 lakhs per annum.

We are also open to hiring for more senior roles in the same function.
