Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest 100% physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our practice includes 190 radiologists, 40 advanced practice providers, and more than 200 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.
What we do: We provide services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan’s largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health. American College of Radiology has designated Corewell a Diagnostic Center for Excellence.
What we are looking for: We are seeking independent contractors for part time or full time remote positions specializing in Body, Neuro or Emergency Radiology. These contracts are for a 6 month time period (with potential for renewal) and the position requires a minimum of 2 shifts per month or 12 shifts (96 hour equivalent) over the 6 month time period. You will be expected to read studies from oldest to newest and reach the specified RVU targets. You will be provided a home work station per our IC technology policy.
Body- This work would be time flexible and could be done in as little as one hour increments. Prefer body fellowship trained and ability to read body MRI in addition to CT. This would not include plain film reading.
Neuro- This requires neuro fellowship training and CAQ in neuro. This could be time flexible outpatient work in as little as one-hour increments or scheduled inpatient work. Must be competent in all neuro studies including MRI.
Emergency Radiology- This work requires timed shifts scheduled in advance which could be full 8 hour shifts or half 4 hour shifts. This work includes everything coming out of the ER, however, we are very subspecialized so higher end neuro, body, peds and MSK will go to the specialty reader.
Compensation: The pay would be $2800 per shift/$350 per hour RVU equivalent. You will need to provide a W9 form to our accounting department and you are responsible for paying your own taxes. We will pay for an occurrence based malpractice policy for you so no tail insurance would be required when you are done working. This position would not be benefit eligible.
Why do you want to do independent contractor/teleradiology for us? This is an excellent opportunity to increase your income and enjoy schedule flexibility with minimal monthly commitment. Although we are based in Michigan, we have a well-established teleradiology practice. We had remote physicians prior to COVID and currently have physicians working in 14 states. We utilize Intelerad PACS, PowerScribe 360 and Clario; we have outstanding IT infrastructure and 24/7 help desk support. You will have outstanding colleagues working virtually by your side as we have dedicated body, cardiothoracic, ER, neuro, pediatric, musculoskeletal, and ultrasound readers on first and second shifts and body, ER, neuro, and pediatric readers on third shift.
