What we would like:
Knowledge and experience working in Freight Forwarding
Providing high quality customer service
Identifying new sales opportunities
Generating new relationships with regional hauliers
Developing and growing the business in your assigned area
Responds to queries and requests from customers
Arranges transport in line with current legislation
Liaises with third parties such as shipper, consignee or nominated contacts ensuring transportation details are correct
Forms strong working relationships with international partners
Considering and planning the most effective route for freight
Organising the transportation of freight between several destinations – usually cargo terminals, port facilities etc
Maintaining a strong line of communication with the customer, keeping them up to date with the progress of goods
Taking appropriate measurements for movement of delicate goods
Complying with countries legal requirements and ensuring appropriate documentation is completed
Keeping up to date with legislative changes that may impact the transportation of freight
Negotiation of rates with suppliers and customers and arranging suitable vehicles / transport arrangements
Communicating effectively with the wider operational depart
Qualifications:
Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
GCSE in Maths & English
Some experience from a similar environment preferred
Good communication & customer service skills
Ability to work under pressure & cope during high volume peaks
Good team player with ability to work on individual tasks
Ambitious with a view to progress within the company
