This position provides the opportunity for motivated individuals to become a Licensed Insurance Agent. Paid classroom and hands-on training is provided to assist trainees in the active pursuit of his/her State Property/Casualty Licenses. Our Insurance Agent Trainees will actively prepare to become a licensed agent through attending appropriate courses, self-study, and participation in training activities to learn skills and accumulate experience.
Trainees will develop sales skills; actively acquire the Insurance industry knowledge necessary to achieve licensing. It is expected that this position serves as a transition to licensed Insurance Agent for no more than one calendar year from appointment as an Agent Trainee. Once licensed, Insurance Sales Agents are responsible for reaching & exceeding their assigned sales goal. Goals will be achieved by selling personal insurance products, including auto, home, umbrella and life products.
Responsibilities:
• Inbound, outbound and potentially face to face multi-media contact with new and existing clients to discuss their needs, explain insurance and emphasize benefits of various product offerings based on analysis of those needs.
• Quote prices on products and/or services and answer any related questions
• Sell and complete applications along with agency/company specific paperwork.
• Meet and exceed sales goals through new product sales, lead generation and follow up, cross selling, retention of current customers, and referrals from existing customers.
• Uphold the highest levels of integrity and provide exceptional customer service during all touch points with both internal and external clients.
• Understand, promote and remain current on company underwriting guidelines, announcements, and memos related to changes in company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for sales administration and reporting activities.
• Ensure applications and paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma/equivalent required, college experience a plus
• Must acquire and maintain State Property/Casualty licenses as required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Minimum 1 year successful business-to-consumer sales experience
• Strong demonstrated ability to market and sell in multi-product environment where cross selling and customer retention is essential to sales goal attainment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including written, verbal and presentation delivery with ability to clearly communicate the features and benefits of insurance and other ancillary products to customers
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and provide excellent customer service
• Knowledge of or ability to learn insurance laws, regulations and processes, ability to analyze and interpret insurance policies and insurance coverage and/or experience in working in a compliance and regulatory environment strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Email, Word and Excel.
Qualifications
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED, with an associate degree or higher preferred.
- Valid P&C License required or necessary to obtain at time of hire.
- Two years’ sales experience, with one to two years of insurance sales experience preferred.

Frequent sitting for long periods of time in a heated/air-conditioned office environment.

Employee may occasionally work from home based on the needs of their job.
Employee will primarily spend their time in an office and call center setting that is cleaned regularly and has heating and air conditioning.
Employee will occasionally travel for training opportunities and other work-related tasks using their personal vehicle.
Employee will be exposed to a moderately noisy work environment with many people talking at once and must be able to maintain concentration.
