Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable server-side web applications in Ruby.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the frontend web applications
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization of existing web applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization


Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Ruby backend experience
  • 3+ years of experience with full web frontend development: Ruby on Rails, React Javascript/Typescript, & Next.js.
  • Comfortable jumping between both backend and frontend systems
  • 2+ years of experience mentoring and growing other developers
  • Strong knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Proven track record of delivering quality work on time
  • Enjoy working with product specialists and end-users to understand requirements
  • Great communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills to work with a range of colleagues from product specialists and end-users, to UX designers and other developers
  • Strong interest in continued personal and professional development, inclusive of learning new programming languages and technologies
  • Experience incorporating automation and integration testing


Preferred Technical Experience

  • Web frontend: React, Next.js, Typescript, Tailwind
  • Languages: Ruby, Javascript
  • Web backend: Rails, Rescue
  • Database: Postgres, Regis, MySQL, Redis, LDAP, ElasticSearch, InfluxDB
