The opportunity

An Editorial Team Lead leads and manages an editorial team in partnership with their Creative Team Lead , and is responsible for oversight of team resourcing and delivery, ensuring that quality standards are maintained and delivery deadlines are met, according to client expectations. The ETL works in close partnership with Medical, Account Management, and Creative colleagues to ensure business delivery, as well as with ETL peers and the Editorial Community on functional or team and company initiatives. In addition, the ETL undertakes editorial project work on an ongoing basis, within their team(s).

Resource and workflow management - Manage and plan team resources to meet current and future demand, liaising with other ETLs and Global Editorial Director and medical/account teams as - Ongoing supervision of their editorial team(s), to ensure timely and high-quality editorial contribution to successful project delivery. - Identify and resolve issues that jeopardize team effectiveness and lead the resolution of complex delivery issues, guiding team members accordingly. - Ensure that team members understand and implement the techniques and processes of the editorial function, and promote Envision Pharma Group (EPG) best practice. - Lead identification of process enhancements that optimize efficiency and quality of delivery, and oversee the implementation of new techniques and processes. - Identify when outsourcing is necessary, raise freelancer work orders, seek necessary approvals, provide comprehensive and clear briefs, and monitor quality of work. - Collaborate with ETL colleagues to manage resourcing and project delivery across all IMC clients.

People/line management - Ensure the well-being of all editorial team members/line reports, providing support and guidance as required (as well as monitoring timesheets and approving PTO). - Undertake Envision Contribution Planning (ECP) and develop/implement training plans for direct line reports, in line with EPG policy. - Identify appropriate opportunities and challenges for team members, ensuring optimal team development and retention. - Manage, with input from HR/Global Editorial Director, both high-performing (progression planning, etc) and low-performing (PIPs, etc) team members. - Participate in the recruitment of editorial candidates, develop and implement onboarding plans, and monitor the progress of new team members.

Functional and operational involvement - Collaborate with Global Editorial Director and ETLs to develop and maintain internal resources relevant to the editorial function (eg, technical training resources). - Lead or proactively contribute to Editorial Community and IMC initiatives.

Do you have what we are looking for?**Skills & expertise - Expert understanding of technical editing - High-level proficiency in MS Office suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - Preferably familiar with the current AMA Manual of Style. - Preferably experienced with EndNote, Adobe Acrobat, and GraphPad Prism. - Previous line management experience or extensive experience in a mentorship/ supervisory role within an editorial function in a medical communications agency environment.
