Manager - Manufacturing Operations and Digitalization (MOD)

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative professional to manage our Manufacturing Operations and Digitalization (MOD) group. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge and experience in Industry 4.0 initiatives, research and development, as well as experience with TRL/MRL (Technology Readiness Level/Manufacturing Readiness Level) frameworks. This role includes managing people and projects and requires someone who can provide both strategic vision and operational leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for overall lab management & delivery of projects undertaken by the Materials team:

  • Oversee and manage the MOD team to ensure effective operation of Industry 4.0 related research and development projects.
  • Lead the implementation of TRL/MRL frameworks to evaluate and manage the maturity of manufacturing technologies.
  • Establish strategic objectives, initiatives, and operational processes for the MOD team.
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of manufacturing processes using digital technologies and data analytics.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication between different teams and departments to align Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the MOD department's budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the MOD department.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for MOD team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards in the MOD department’s operations.
  • Any other duties as required to support business needs

Key Skills/Experience

  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Industry 4.0 and related digital technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing TRL/MRL frameworks.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, operations, and quality systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and interpretation.
  • Experience in budget development and oversight.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in implementing Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).
  • Experience in a high-tech, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
