Job Description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Ford’s Research and Advanced Engineering team takes new ideas from theory to reality. Every day, we develop advanced energy management and propulsion technologies, create cutting-edge materials and manufacturing processes, and curate world-class cabin experiences that redefine what it means to drive a Ford.

Ford Motor Company is seeking to fill a Vehicle and Corporate Lifecycle Assessment role within the Sustainability & Environmental Sciences research team at Ford’s global research center in Dearborn, Michigan. Responsibilities will include data gathering and data analysis supporting corporate and vehicle-level carbon footprints, concluding with a presentation at the end of the internship period.

The candidate should anticipate an approximately 40-hour work week onsite for the duration of the internship (approximately 12-14 weeks in duration). **

Responsibilities**

The role will have an opportunity to interact with subject matter experts throughout the company. Responsibilities will also include:

  • Obtaining data from corporate data systems and external databases that support corporate and vehicle-level carbon footprints
  • Perform calculations, and document results in tables, figures, text, and presentations
  • Utilize Excel to manipulate data and write reports
  • Present data to relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a relevant technical field (i.e., mechanical, chemical or environmental engineering, environmental science, etc.), preferred
  • Basic background in life cycle assessment (LCA) and/or carbon footprint analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
