Medsolve are currently hiring for an amazing company who are looking for full time, dedicated Remote Support Worker to actively promote the rights of the young people aged between 16 -18 Years of age as individuals and provide them with quality support in the Sunderland area.

 

This is a Permanent role, and we offer a salary of £12.00 per hour. Please note we do NOT offer sponsorship.

 

This is a day shift role and you MUST Drive.

The main duties and responsibilities of the Remote Support Worker:

·         Assist in the development of new techniques and approaches to supported living provisions.

·         To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each person.

·         Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships.

·         Provide firm, consistent and fair boundaries in respect of their behaviour and employ appropriate and agreed sanctions.

·         Ensure that appropriate medical help is provided in cases of illness and accidents including self – harm.

·         Promote the development of a healthy lifestyle, healthy choices and positive options.

·         To organise and participate in group activities and group holidays.

·         To assist in the provision/preparation of meals in the home if required

·         To assist and support Young People through the process of leaving supported living.

·         Observe and assess the behaviour of Young People.

·         To work closely and in co-operation with support workers, social work staff, specialists and other professional agencies.

·         To support less experienced staff.

·         Undertake sleep in duties as appropriate.

·         Undertake appropriate training as required.

·         Compile reports, including Review, Progress and Incident reports.

·         To undertake financial management and recording of day to day petty cash maintenance in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures

·         To participate in alternating shift pattern

·         To ensure time sheets are submitted in a timely manner to payroll.

 

Qualifications required for the Remote Support Worker:

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • 5 years of professional references
  • Enhanced DBS, subscribed to the update service (or willing to get one)
  • Driver – ESSENTIAL
  • level 3 Diploma in Social Care (0-18 year olds) Will require no further NVQ.
  • level 3 Diploma in Adult social care (Will require doing 3 units of Residential Care level three NVQ)
  • Transferable Adults and Children's DBS is desirable but not essential.
