The Bilingual Specialist, Marketing and Communications, will primarily be responsible for translating and proofreading marketing and communications materials, as well as creating content and providing occasional support in event planning and conferences. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring effective communication by working cross-functionally and supporting various teams in achieving their communication goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Translation - English to French (40%):

   - Translate English marketing and communications materials into French and proofread French marketing materials, ensuring linguistic and cultural appropriateness for French-speaking audiences.

2. Material Development and Translation (35%):

   - Create high-quality written content for marketing and communication channels, including press releases,  sales collateral, presentations, and advertisements in French.

   - Assist in localizing campaigns for French-speaking markets.

   - Utilize design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) for material editing and creation.

3. Communications Support (15%):

   - Contribute bilingual content for employee newsletters, announcements, and intranet updates.

   - Facilitate effective communication between English and French-speaking teams within the organization.

   - Assist in drafting bilingual communications materials for media relations.

4. Event Support (10%):

   - Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing company events, both internal and external, and conferences.

   - Contribute to the development of event materials, including invitations, programs, and promotional materials.

5. Additional Asks by Manager (As Needed):

   - Respond to additional tasks or requests from the manager, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to and excel at various projects.

Qualifications Expected for Position

- Exceptional proficiency in French and English. Candidate must demonstrate fluency, with an emphasis on accurate and clear communication in both languages both written and spoken in order to conduct thorough proofreading and editing of all translated and drafted materials.

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Translation, or a related field.

- Proven experience in communications, content creation, and translation.

- Strong writing and editing skills in both languages.

- Familiarity with marketing principles and the ability to create engaging marketing materials.

- Proficiency in using translation and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Microsoft Office).

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

- Adobe Creative Suite proficiency and video editing experience a plus!
