Position Overview:

PCG is seeking an Epic Care Anesthesia Analyst who is responsible for the efficient implementation, configuration, and support of the Epic Care Anesthesia module within a healthcare organization. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the Anesthesia module aligns with the organization's clinical workflows and meets regulatory requirements. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert for anesthesia-related processes and provides technical support to end-users. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Epic Care Anesthesia Module Configuration: Configure and maintain the Epic Care Anesthesia module based on the organization's clinical requirements, including anesthetic medications, protocols, preference lists, and documentation templates. 
  • Workflow Analysis and Optimization: Collaborate with clinical stakeholders to analyze existing anesthesia workflows and identify opportunities for streamlining and optimizing the documentation, ordering, and medication management processes. Implement changes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and patient safety. 
  • System Integration: Coordinate with other Epic modules and external systems to ensure seamless integration of the Anesthesia module with related modules such as scheduling, operating room management, pharmacy, and billing. Collaborate with IT and interface teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues. 
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing of the Anesthesia module during system upgrades, new releases, or configuration changes. Ensure proper functionality and accuracy of anesthesia documentation, medication reconciliation, intraoperative recordkeeping, and other related processes. 
  • Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs to educate anesthesia providers, nurses, and other end-users on the use of the Epic Care Anesthesia module. Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve user inquiries in a timely manner. 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements, such as HIPAA, Meaningful Use, and quality reporting initiatives. Ensure the Anesthesia module meets these requirements and assist in the documentation and reporting of quality measures. 
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of workflows, system configurations, and changes made to the Anesthesia module. Generate reports and provide data analysis to support decision-making processes and performance improvement initiatives. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices related to anesthesia documentation, medication management, and EHR systems. Recommend enhancements and improvements to the Anesthesia module to enhance clinical effectiveness and user experience. 
Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare informatics, nursing, anesthesia, or a related field. Relevant certifications in EpicCare Anesthesia are highly desirable. 
  • Prior experience working with the Epic EHR system, specifically in the configuration and optimization of the Anesthesia module. 
  • Strong understanding of anesthesia workflows and anesthesia documentation requirements in an operating room environment. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality reporting initiatives related to anesthesia and perioperative care. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and propose effective solutions. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clinical stakeholders, and end-users. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and patient safety.
