VC Investment Analyst

AFG Partners is an Asian based FinTech VC fund investing in Global and Regional B2B / Enterprise FinTechs addressing the critical needs of financial institutions and corporates in Asia. The fund invests across Pre Series A to Series B rounds into FinTechs that have proven solutions in their home markets and are looking for value added investors that will help them expand across Asia.

The Role
We are flexible with remote work and you will be working with senior members of the team based in Hong Kong and Singapore.
You will play a broad role at the fund, assisting in sourcing and evaluating new opportunities, building investment theses and supporting its administrative activities. The ideal candidate will identify high-potential companies thru bottom-up research / analysis. They will also assist in the investment diligence and decision process as well as help the senior members of the team operate the fund.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing and Deal Execution
• Research, analysis and outreach to identify promising investment opportunities
• Help with initial screening of inbound deal flow to ensure it fits our investment strategy
• Participate in the development of the Fund’s in-depth investment theses research
• Assist in evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence and preparing investment memos

Portfolio Support

• Assist in the analysis and execution of follow-on financings
• Help facilitate portfolio company engagement with our advisors and investor network
Investor Reporting and Relations
• Assist in the preparation of fund communication to investors (e.g. quarterly reports)
• Help organize and co-ordinate investor events and meetings
Fund Administration
• Help establish and maintain the fund’s processes and systems (e.g. CRM, Deal tracking)

 
Network and Market Development
• Support marketing efforts to enhance AFG’s brand and visibility
• Engage with the entrepreneurial community to identify new opportunities for AFG
 

 • At least 2 years of experience in Venture Capital, Investment Banking or Consulting
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong proficiency in written and verbal English
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a technical field
• Passion for working with early-stage companies, great instincts, and a unique perspective

• The budget is an annual comp of USD 12-20k (including any statutory 13-month bonus).
• Open to doing a 1-2 month discretionary bonus.
