What You’ll Do: 


Use your creative design sensibility to produce visioning and conceptual design for large-scale multi-family projects and developments.  Develop and supervise the production of quality contract design documents, while maintaining the firms’ deliverable standards.  You’ll be responsible for the daily coordination of internal team design efforts into the drawings and specifications, including communication and coordination with consultants.  Provide progress oversight and monitoring of deliverables with team members, including upstream communication with the project manager.  You will also coordinate construction administration efforts and assist project managers in the execution of specific assignments. This is a remote role and will work closely with our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. Travel to local sites in Hawaii and travel to Utah will be required. Local hires will only be considered.  


Core Responsibilities and Expectations: 


  • Collaborate in a studio environment without supervision 
  • Produce full set of contract documents from Programming to CD Phase 
  • Support Project Manager in establishing and maintaining design fees and project schedule 
  • Oversee construction administration efforts, including shop drawing and submittal reviews, responding to contractor RFI's, and providing ASI’s 
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Coordinate and run project related meetings with consultants 
  • Identify and leverage core skills and areas of interest for staff, providing opportunities for growth and development amongst the team
  • Mentor and develop junior team members

Requirements
  • 10+ years of architectural design, construction administration, and related professional experience
  • Local experience and relationships with jurisdictions for project permitting in Hawaii are a must.  
  • Master’s degree in architecture from an accredited program preferred 
  • A registered architect is preferred 
  •  Direct experience with large-scale multifamily developments and Affordable Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) is required
  • Advanced understanding of architectural design and related fields. 
  • Advanced proficiency in REVIT and other software and their application to construction documents  
  • Adept at other software including Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup, MS Office Suite 
  • Extensive knowledge of codes, consultant's coordination (civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural), and ability to successfully complete the permitting process with minimal aid and supervision. 
  • Ability to lead communication efforts with client and development team
