Job description

Job Title: Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineer- Mexico (remote from various cities)

Reporting to: Project Engineer, Project Managers, CAD Manager on day-to-day basis

About Role: We are looking for engineers to work within our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team as part of building design. This role will provide the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exclusive projects that IKERD are involved with globally. Candidates will need to work 48 hours per week and typically will work from home or at our Tórreon office. This is for recent graduates as well as experienced individuals in engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting design in drawing production and prepare them for commercial building projects.
  • Review project files for compliance with Standards/protocols.
  • Learn laser scanning for 3D model creation of buildings.
  • Implement best practice procedures for engineering analysis.
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings, 3D models.
  • Coordinating drawing production in line with project requirements and in conjunction with other discipline.
  • Helping to technically deliver CAD/BIM projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordination.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and able to work alone or with a team.

Qualities and Skills:

  • Desire to obtain the Certificate of Development in BIM, Part 1 certification (CD-BIM.com) and Autodesk Professional Revit Certification is a plus.
  • Have a working knowledge of 1 of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structure, Civil or Architecture.
  • Interested in learning about other areas of the building industry beyond the discipline they know.
  • Good working knowledge of at least 1 one of the following Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor, and/or Civil 3D.
  • Experience working in the commercial building industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and able to take responsibility in a proactive approach to daily tasks.
  • Maintain a good attitude and flexibility within a dynamic work environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013 or higher. Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Relevant training will be given to suitable candidates.
