Job Description

Myriad Genetics discovers, develops, and commercializes molecular genetic tests that determine the risk of developing disease, assess disease progression, and guide treatment decisions in Oncology, Women’s Health, and Mental Health. We are looking for a Director, Consumer Sales to build-out and execute our retail and e-commerce sales and distribution strategy and sales team. This Director will bring experience building out medical or healthcare consumer product omnichannel sales programs, ideally in the Women’s Health space. This director will also have a track record of successful product launch and/or re-launch and sequential revenue growth across retail and e-commerce channels. We are looking for a “player-coach” leader to not only develop action plans, but also initiate, facilitate, and execute deals with national partners.

Impact You Will Own**

  • Strategic sales leadership of our retail/consumer channels of distribution including direct-to-consumer (DTC), e-commerce, chain, mass, drug and others as they are identified and validated.
  • Identify and prioritize channel expansion opportunities for consumer offerings.
  • Plan and cultivate partner and customer relationships at highest organizational levels.
  • Analyze and present high-impact recommendations and growth plans to leadership.
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement optimal business structure for the consumer channel.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify barriers to adoption at the customer and consumer level and recommend actions to address/overcome.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and lead efforts to scale.
  • Drive repeatability, predictability, and scalability across the business.
  • Serve as the recognized consumer business expert on the sales leadership team.
  • Plan, forecast, identify, and communicate actionable trends and insights within and cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Assist leadership with annual planning and budgeting.
  • Drive alignment of leadership and sales operations around incentive compensation plans.
  • Use robust analytics to drive improvements, efficiencies, and alternatives.
  • Track and communicate quarterly metrics update to support earnings calls.
  • Be a trusted advisor to Sales Leadership

What You Will Do

  • Support the President in defining the company’s sales strategy and path to execution, with a focus on consumer/retail business growth.
  • Develop and monitor critical success metrics and communicate actionable insights to the relevant stakeholders at both the business unit and enterprise level.
  • Own the retail/consumer expansion of the Myriad Brand and associated products.
  • Lead budgeting and planning processes for with the direct and supporting teams (e.g., forecasts, periodic reviews, annual budgets, and long-range plans).
  • Identify and deconstruct business issues and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analyses.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and significant influence management skills with the ability to gain credibility with Sr Leadership while challenging the status quo.
  • Maintain an external mindset, including staying on top of consumer, competitive, and macroeconomic trends.
  • Use data analysis and market research to drive decisions.
  • Advocate for critical partnerships and gain key stakeholders’ support.
  • Support business planning processes and assist with developing strategic capabilities across the organization.
  • Drive change across the organization and be willing to wear multiple hats (strategy development, and work with functional owners to drive execution) to do it what it takes to “move the needle”

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience in retail/consumer sales, sales strategy and/or sales management in medical or healthcare consumer products
  • Experienced leader with an outstanding reputation for strategic business judgment, leadership skills and integrity, with the ability to accomplish goals in a timely, productive, and fiscally responsible manner.
  • Direct hands-on knowledge and experience of retail buying patterns, timing, negotiation strategies, pricing, discounts, allowances, store support, return issues, service requirements and interfaces.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to successfully manage sales strategies and support senior executives within a global organization.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, be creative and establish priorities to support business development in a competitive market.
  • Excellent communications skills for various settings.
  • Experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to align expectations and contracted obligations, dependencies.
  • Demonstrated experience, proficiency using data to measure effectiveness, communicate areas for improvement.
  • Proven leader and team-builder.
  • Ability to problem-solve real-time and bring an ‘activist’ mentality to change management in an emotionally aware way.
  • Emotional intelligence to drive to outcomes while maintaining relationships and trust.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel capabilities, experience with Salesforce
