In this position...**

  • In this role you will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge cloud-native technologies including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Spring Boot, Angular, React, Cloud SQL and our enterprise Originations and Risk Management platforms.
  • We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated full-stack Software Engineer to work as part of our high performing engineering and product team in an exciting and fast paced environment.
  • We recently launched the initial release of our flagship cloud-native product, Deal Optimizer, and are embarking on an exciting and challenging suite of both technical and functional enhancements that will significantly expand the scope of the application going forward.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Develop and enhance front-end user experience utilising TypeScript, Angular, React, HTML, CSS
  • Develop and enhance back-end APIs and services, primarily using Java/Spring Boot
  • Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance and stability
  • Integrate and work with best-in-class analysis tools to improve code security and quality
  • Integrate with third party internal and external libraries and APIs as needed to deliver business functionality
  • Instrument, measure and monitor application performance using cloud native toolsets (Grafana, Splunk, GCP native tools and more)
  • Working as part of an Agile team, support the entire application lifecycle from initial concept through design, development, test, deployment and operational support
  • Collaborate and innovate with multiple interfacing product teams in the Ford Credit and Ford Motor IT, Sales, Originations and Risk organisations to design and deliver complex integrations between multiple systems
  • Advocate for engineering excellence, exceptional usability and outstanding quality.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field of study
  • 5+ years of full stack development experience in Java (Spring Boot) and one or more Javascript/Typescript browser-based front-end frameworks (Angular, React)
  • 5+ years of experience in application delivery using iterative, test driven, Agile development practices including pairing/mobbing
  • 5+ years of SQL experience (Postgres, MS SQL, DB2)
  • 2+ years experience with instrumentation, monitoring and visualisation tools including Grafana, Splunk, GCP Cloud Logging

Even better, you may have...

  • Experience with Ford software delivery toolchain including Git/GitHub, Gradle, Cloud Build, Terraform, Jenkins, Nexus/JFrog Artifactory, Checkmarx, Sonarqube, FOSSA, 42crunch
  • Experience with Google Cloud (GCP) or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
  • Understanding of Ford Credit business operations and/or the wider automotive financial services business context
  • Understanding of in-dealership sales, financing and insurance operations
  • Experience with whiteboarding, UX wireframe and technical diagramming tools including Miro, Figma, Visio
