Description 





The lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons and students in and around the pool area and preventing and responding to emergencies. 






 





 






Responsibilities 





  • Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the pool area; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of customers in the event of an emergency.  

  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. 

  • Prepares and maintains appropriate incident reports. 

  • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. 

  • Performs various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. 

  • Prepares and maintains appropriate incident reports. 

  • Make sure the pool area is always properly supervised and attended in accordance to American Red Cross standards. 

  • Attends monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills

Performs other duties as assigned by management. 






 





 






Requirements 





Required: 

  • Keep and maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR/AED certification for adult, infant and child 

  • Previous swim instruction experience 

  • Must be able to successfully complete all Lifeguarding pre-requisites to American Red Cross standards 

  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs  






 





 






Uniforms 





Lifeguards are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include a white SafeSplash Lifeguard t-shirt/tank top and royal blue shorts/pants.  SafeSplash Swim School will provide one t-shirt/tank top per calendar year per employee.  Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost.  The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner.  If at any time a Supervisor determines an employee’s uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform.  If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform.  If no uniform is present you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay.
