Job description

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for preparing, tracking, monitoring, and managing successful completion of pricing offers for Elixir clients and prospects. This includes responding to pricing related request for proposal (RFP) questions, identifying financial needs of clients, conducting underwriting analysis and quantifying and explaining impact of various pricing options to both Elixir and clients. The Pricing Analyst will also be required to perform ad-hoc data analysis to support decisions. **

Essential Duties And Responsibilities**

  • Develop pricing models for prospects/renewal clients by creating competitive financial packages that meet the requirements of our clients and Elixir.
  • Read, summarize, and develop the pricing strategy for (RFPs)
  • Provide responses to RFP questionnaires as required.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including sales, legal, account management, consultants and brokers to develop and prepare competitive pricing packages.
  • Calculate potential client savings generated between a current pricing offer vs. new pricing offer.
  • Determine margins and source or margins for financial packages.
  • Communicate financial offers to internal stakeholders for contracting, implementation, reconciliations, etc.
  • Investigate and answer any pricing-related questions for new business RFPs or existing book of business.
  • Participate in contract reviews and negotiations to ensure client pricing is accurately portrayed in the client contract and internal systems.
  • Conduct various analyses and additional ad-hoc analyses to investigate data to allow for a full understanding of pricing complexities, contingencies, and risk.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of profitability and associated risks. This includes understanding flow of funds between Elixir and pharmacies, aggregators, manufacturers, wholesalers, and clients.
  • Analyze historical claims utilization and prepare client utilization profiles for the team.
  • Participate in development and implementation of initiatives, as needed, to improve models, processes, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, statistical or financial discipline.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who can handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact successfully with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with highly developed critical thinking skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including experience using VLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, and nested IF statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years PBM, health insurance and/or underwriting experience
  • Financial reporting knowledge and experience
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Intermediate Access skills.
  • Programming knowledge and/or experience.

Work Environment

Remote working environment with occasional travel for in person meetings and work sessions. The Elixir workday is based in the Eastern Time Zone. **

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
