Job description

Moog Construction focuses on the construction and mobile machinery industry. The goal is to address global macro trends for green energy, skilled labor shortages and increased productivity through technological disruptions: electrification, automation, and connectivity by enabling automation and electrification outside of the factory. This new business unit will pursue a portfolio of several strategic options including: Zero Emissions Systems, Advanced & Automated Systems, Autonomous & Special Purpose Moog Systems, and Digital & Cloud Services. You will be focused on the development, launch and scale of Zero Emission & Automated Systems.

Our Moog Construction Team is looking for a Business Development Manager to join them. You will report to the Business Director, OEM Solutions and will work in Buffalo, New York. Remote flexible working opportunities may be considered.

You will manage the development of new markets and growth in existing markets, you will play an important part in the strategies for both organic and acquisitive pursuits. An understanding of sales with a high level of discipline, communication and facilitative leadership skills are required. You will focus on growing relationships with key strategic customers (both existing and new), development of new markets and customers for existing technologies, and broadening the sectors sales opportunities applying new and emerging technologies.

Internally you will contribute in the development of our strategy through an understanding of the customer and market drivers that influence our technology and products. Further responsibilities for internal communication and processes that enhance win probabilities and ensure world-class customer satisfaction. **

To be considered for a Business Development Manager here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:**

  • Bachelors of Science degree (professional, or advanced), preferred in the field of Engineering with ten (10) years progressive experience; ; business development or account management experience
  • General capabilities/competencies in direct sales, contract negotiations, and account management
  • Demonstrated skills in leading and facilitating teams across many disciplines
  • Understanding of GAP long-term accounting methodologies
  • Mobile machinery industry experience
  • Ability to relocate to the Western New York area preferred
  • Remote flexible working opportunities may be considered
  • Approximately 25% travel

As a Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Managing the relationship between main accounts and Moog. Ensuring that the customer is satisfied with Moog product and support, while meeting internal commercial metrics.
  • Communicate main points between Moog and the Main Account(s)
  • Take the lead role in the Key Account Support Team (Program Manager, Contracts, Engineering)
  • Participate in strategy definition / capture plans for Moog proposals and support the proposal process through writing, review, themes, or pricing meeting participation
  • Manage commercial issues as they arise with the customer.
  • Manage the financial and production forecast for each key account.
  • Provide status on commercial issues with our organization.
  • Negotiate and implement long-term agreements with the Main Account(s)
  • Lead CPI process to deliver proposals when requested
  • Facilitate special projects as it relates to improving customer satisfaction or market entry success

Salary Range:

  • The base pay range for this opportunity is $106,724.80 - $190,091.20 per year.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
