The Code Attorney will work closely with other attorneys and editors to keep our clients' law legally sound and up to date, both in print and online.

Your Impact

  • Supervise all aspects of codifications/recodifications and standalone legal reviews;
  • Review legislation to identify conflicts, inconsistencies, and obsolete provisions in connection with the State’s statutes; identify conflicting or obsolete provisions; identify certain potentially unconstitutional provisions; update and add state law references and citations;
  • Prepare legal memorandum identifying recommendations and work with clients to implement desired revisions;
  • Provide legal support for Supplement Editors;
  • Coordinate with Sales department.

Experience & Skills we value:*

  • A minimum of two (2) years or more professional experience in the practice of law or legal research, with emphasis on local government law;
  • Admission to a State Bar;
  • Must be proactive, detail oriented, tech savvy, organized and driven to achieve top-quality work product;
  • Ability to multi-task and move from project to project with ease and eye toward accuracy and timeliness;
  • Superior interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work well with peers, customers, and all levels of management;
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, and listening);
  • Able to function independently and adapt readily to multiple assignments and deadlines;
  • Ability to deal with high-volume, rapid cycles, concurrent deadlines, and changing priorities;
  • Takes initiative and accepts personal responsibility for work.
  • Strong computer literacy (Windows, Word, Outlook)
