What You’ll Do

You may partner with CPA firms to provide support to multiple clients. CPA firms range from local boutique accounting firms to top 100, US-based public accounting firms.

Below is a list of potential tasks you might be assigned with a CPA Firm client, including but not limited to:

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Provide proactive tax planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities, maximize deductions, and optimize overall tax positions.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations, conduct research on complex tax issues, and provide guidance to clients and internal teams on tax implications and strategies.
  • Interact with clients to gather tax-related information, provide guidance on tax compliance requirements, and address any questions or concerns they may have regarding their tax obligations.
  • Assist clients in meeting their tax compliance obligations, including filing deadlines, estimated tax payments, and any other required tax-related filings.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of tax returns and related documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating a deep understanding of their business and tax needs, and providing exceptional service to promote client satisfaction and loyalty.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation and planning, with a focus on serving clients at top 400 accounting firms.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, including experience with individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns. Familiarity with international tax matters is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using tax software applications such as Lacerte, ProSystem fx, CCH, or similar platforms. Experience with tax research tools and resources is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to review complex tax documentation and identify potential errors or omissions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to analyze complex tax situations and provide innovative solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and handle multiple engagements simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tax laws and regulations, as well as evolving client needs and priorities.
  • Upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality when handling sensitive client tax information.
  • At least 20 hours per week of availability
