This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to the Sr. IT Manager.
Position Summary: As a Network Engineer for ClearCaptions, this position is responsible for the management and maintenance operation over both the customer facing network as well as the corporate facing infrastructure. As a key member of the DevOps organization there will be continuous network and platform enhancements and projects that require an Engineer to interact with not only their peer group but also with leadership and partner teams throughout ClearCaptions and our sister company Vimient. We are looking for dynamic, seasoned Engineer that is thrives in a fast pace and within a service provider as well as a strong team player.
What you will do:
- Primary responsibility to Plan, Design, Configure, Deploy, and supervise the operation of high availability network services in a data center environment.
- Manage and maintain the network Load Balancing platform via F5 GTM, Cisco firewalls, Palo Alto (Primary technology) and firewalls.
- Support the planning and designing data center networks and Corp Enterprise networks including IP Planning, Routing design, VLAN design, security considerations, and high availability through redundancy and protocols.
- Support the Implementation and configuration of traffic shaping, high availability, and automated fail-over using BGP, HSRP/VRRP, IP SLA, QOS, MPLS, STP/RSTP, and triangulated mesh topologies.
- Designing, implementation, and operation of load balancers, primarily Palo Alto or Cisco technologies and firewalls in mated pair configurations ensuring scale, availability, and security.
- Maintaining SDN using private cloud stacks, VLAN segmentation of broadcast domains, voice and data segmentation, and COS / QOS.
- Network Design and implementation, both Enterprise and Data Center, required.
- Manage, support and maintain the configurations and operating the Palo Alto load balancers. Load Balancing via Palo Alto, F5 GTM, or Cisco firewalls, and host-based firewalling.
- Configuration and operation of stacked switches and hybrid FCOE switching. Cisco Nexus experience desirable.
- Turn up and testing of Private Point to Point 1GE links and multi-vendor MPLS links at remote sites.
- Analyze and drive improvements in voice quality, throughput, ISP routing preferences, and reliability. Choose topologies that enhance reliability and are easy to maintain and change.
- Work with other teams to analyze, instrument and capture data that identifies performance issues.
- Ensure all systems are monitored, configurations are backed up, and patched appropriately.
- Support the AWS Cloud data center switching and routing designs and implementations for high availability and ease of change management.
- Troubleshoot packet decode on TCP and UDP.
- After hours and on-call support required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 5-10 years of equivalent experience in Information Systems, 5 years of Palo Alto Firewall and load balancer network experience.
- Strong Configuration backup and archive experience, with detailed working knowledge with Monitoring tools such as Datadog (preferred), SolarWinds, GIT, or Rancid. Scripting configuration management to automate changes and reduce errors during maintenance windows.
- TAKACs experience for login authentication required.
- Excellent knowledge of H.323 and/or SIP technology supporting Voice and Text.
- Excellent knowledge of appropriate network technologies and network applications such as TCP/IP, LAN/WAN setup, routing protocols e.g. BGP, wireless designs and routing.
- Proven knowledge of packet sniffing tools and analyzing traffic flow down to the port level.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong documentation and diagraming skills, ensure all network topologies are accurately documented and recorded in Atlassian Confluence.
- Experience working with Jira Ticketing system, MOP (Method of Procedure) creation and Change Control process adherence.
- Palo Alto certifications: Firewall11.0, Config/Management/ Trouble Shooting and Networks highly preferred.
- Cisco Certified - CCNP or better, excellent knowledge of CISCO routers, switches and firewalls.
Experience with the following is desired:
- Working knowledge as well of certifications support AWS Cloud Networks
- ISP Peering multi-homed Public ASN via BGP
- IP Planning and VLAN design for data centers using private cloud technologies.
- COS/QOS for VoIP, traffic prioritization and traffic shaping
- NAT/PAT in routers and firewalls
- High Availability designs using redundancy and diversity.
- Experience working with Telcos and backbone ISPs to troubleshoot, install, and configure.
- Palo Alto Networks highly desired, Websense CISCO, F5,
- Positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel (up to 10%); will include some overnight travel.
- Proficient in MS Office, modern communication tools for virtual teams (i.e., MS Teams)

Work environment is primarily indoors at home or other business meeting venue, exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions during travel, and exposure to hazardous driving and traffic conditions. Travel (up to 10%) may include overnight and out-of-state travel.
