About The Role
Under the general supervision of the Tax Manager, the Payroll Tax Supervisor will oversee the payroll filing tax department to ensure accurate and timely filings along with managing and mentoring the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead department in the knowledge of tax payment and filing requirements
- Lead and manage continuing education for team
- Manage and monitor client deliverables and due dates
- Monitor tax team metrics and KPI’s
- Conduct complex tax research and prepare memorandum outlining findings and conclusions
- Respond to IRS and state agency audit inquiries and tax notices and communicate to clients
- Communicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, and management
- Assist Payroll Tax Manager with daily tasks
Requirements
- 5 years minimum of relevant experience
- Experience in payroll tax leadership
- Tax research experience required
- Experience in Master Tax is a plus, tax system oversight is required
- Forward-thinking and always looking for ways to improve, learn and grow
- Desire and ability to train, mentor/lead and develop staff
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills
