Your missions

Autimo is a cloud engineering and DevOps professional and managed services provider serving customers across North America. Our in-house experts have a strong background in analyzing, developing and supporting elegant solutions to complex problems that make use of our core competencies:

  • Cloud technologies (Certified across AWS, Azure and Google).
  • SDLM management using DevOps tools and techniques, CI/CD, etc.
  • Containerization and orchestration, specializing in Kubernetes.
  • Infrastructure administration and management using automated tools.
  • InfoSec & security compliance, e.g. PCI DSS, SOX, HIPAA, data residency, etc.

We are seeking a DevOps engineer to join us. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on production systems for our clients, delivering project work and resolving production issues.

Responsibilities include

  • Work with colleagues to architect, automate and orchestrate workloads on multiple public cloud platforms (mostly AWS, Azure & Google cloud).
  • Support and mentor junior engineers.
  • Support internal and external customers.
  • Develop tooling and processes to improve internal and external customer experience.
  • Generate and capture reusable scripts, code, documentation and other artifacts from engagements that are shared and used by others.
  • Work directly with customers responding to issues that arise.

The ideal candidate has broad technical skills and experience. The candidate is curious, passionate, has a desire to learn, and can work collaboratively with colleagues and customers. In addition we are also looking for:

  • Excellent written and spoken english skills. As a distributed team, we rely heavily on asynchronous communication in writing.
  • A quiet stable place to work. We are fully remote, so you’ll need a place to work from with good reliable internet (a co-working office space is fine if you don't have an office at home).
  • Relevant diploma, degree, or prior experience.
  • Curious, passionate, and driven to learn new technologies.
  • Experience working with Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
  • Proficient with Bash, Python or Javascript.
  • Experience working with SQL.
  • Proficient with Git and Git workflows.
  • Strong understanding of web development tools and architectures. Can you debug a complex web based application that isn’t working correctly?
  • Knowledge of networking and network protocols.
  • Desire to automate repetitive tasks.

  • Competitive compensation plan and interesting work.
  • Remote culture - work from home (or wherever!)
  • Work-life balance and flexible hours.
  • Team events including off-sites and retreats.
  • Health, dental, vision insurance.
  • Other great perks, such as home office stipend.

About us

Autimo has always been a 100% remote company since we were founded in 2018. We aim to work asynchronously as much as practical, we try hard to avoid unnecessary meetings and calendar events, instead relying on our self documenting processes and slack to keep everyone in the loop. We've spent a lot of time and effort to get remote culture right (we started by following Automattic's example). We take pride in the fact that all our staff feel the same level of inclusion.

Autimo also prides itself on an open, constructive approach to problem solving. Our core values include:

  • A lifelong commitment to education for ourselves, our customers and our community.
  • Building sustainable long term relationships with our partners, our customers, the community and each other.
  • Commitment to shared value systems and the common good, such as Open Source software, and Creative Commons.
  • Long term sustainability, building solutions that will stand the test of time.

Autimo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace that seeks to recruit, develop and retain talented people from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We encourage applications from all genders, races, religions, ages and sexual orientations, as well as parents, veterans, people living with disabilities, and any other groups that could bring diverse perspectives to our business.
