As an Alcon Surgical Account Manager, you will be accountable for achieving sales targets and promoting products to surgical eyecare professionals in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland.   You will build strong customer relationships, handle inquiries, and manage sales planning and reporting for your territory.  You are a lifelong learner who works collaboratively with internal and external partners to differentiate, implement and support new technologies in Surgical Ophthalmology.  The Alcon Surgical Account Manager is the key driver of the Sales & Sales Support team that helps provide access to leading surgical ophthalmology products, ensuring the delight of eye care professionals who help people to see brilliantly.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Achieve sales targets and promote products to medical practitioners and allied health care professionals
  • Drive sales, productivity, and performance targets within budgets and timescales
  • Develop business plans and implement activities like customer events, sales and marketing campaigns, and sales presentations
  • Provide key account/hospital network support and market access support, including referral networks
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of products, product strategy, positioning, key messages, programs, company developments, customers, and competitors
  • Achieve agreed contact, coverage, and frequency targets through various communication channels
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and build best-in-class customer relationships
  • Handle inquiries and complaints quickly and professionally in accordance with company procedures
  • Complete all reports accurately and on time
  • Contribute positively to the Sales and Marketing team through cooperative relationships and collaborative efforts to achieve team and company objectives

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Minimum: University degree in related field.
  • Preferred:  University degree in B.Sc., B.Comm. or equivalent plus
    MEDEC Certification.
  • Minimum:  3-5 plus years in hospital surgical sales or 5 plus years
    in Pharma/other products selling to Ophthalmologists.
  • Preferred:  3-5 years with Ophthalmic or Surgical products
    experience.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills – Ability to prioritize projects, lead teams, and adapt to change
  • Passion for innovation and learning – Curiosity-driven mindset with a desire to introduce new technologies and improve patient outcomes.
  • Industry expertise and business acumen – Knowledge of trends, ability to build strong customer relationships, and drive sales growth.
  • Commitment to helping others – Motivated to support and train end users on product optimization.
  • Proven sales and relationship management skills – Ability to navigate the full sales cycle and establish long-term partnerships.
  • Computer literate in a Windows Environment and experience with CRM.
  • Individual must reside in the greater Vancouver area of BC, or closely surrounding
