Job description


We are actively recruiting for an Intake Records Management Coordinator (I-RMC). This 100% remote role is centered on the meticulous review of submitted medical records. The I-RMC will be responsible for assessing medical records against specific criteria and validating administrative data provided by various organizations for both government and commercial clients.

A key aspect of this position involves handling protected health information, which necessitates maintaining the utmost confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be adept at using various office equipment and computer software, have experience working with medical records and coding, demonstrate strong professional judgment, and be capable of working independently.

This is a remote position, offering flexible scheduling up to 40 hours per week. This is expected to be a 9 month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis of protected health information, adhering strictly to project-specific rules established by CMS.

  • Engage in the Submission Review phase of the medical record intake process.

  • Execute administrative intake procedures for all submitted medical records.

  • Address and resolve project-related discrepancies through discussions with Team Lead(s).

  • Maintain and demonstrate a current and comprehensive understanding of coding rules, changes, and guidelines as defined by the AMA.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • A minimum of one (1) year of medical coding experience.

  • Proven ability to compose professional correspondence and communicate effectively with internal personnel, clients, and customers.

  • Must possess the capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision and exercise sound professional judgment
