Support our Records Services Section using your public records and/or records management expertise. The Records Management Specialist will be responsible for processing public records requests, ensuring that established time standards are met, and provides support to records scanning projects to include quality assurance of digital images. You will have the opportunity to support the District's records management program by serving as a contact for all Bureaus and Sections regarding the District's records retention policies, procedures, and processes. This position will also assist staff with the records storage and retrieval process utilizing the records tracking software. Duties will require some knowledge of records management, public records, and digital imaging. You’ll have the chance to work with a wide range of teams in this promising position, each of which plays a vital role in our efforts to preserve our most valuable natural resources.

The starting hourly range is included for the Business Process Technician profile which reflects the minimum to approximately 25% of the respective pay grade. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.
Process public records requests, ensuring established time standards are met.
Perform an established quality assurance (QA) process of digital images to ensure they are compliant with regulations applicable to public records.
Employee works in a standard office environment. Performs continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Occasionally lifts and carries objects weighing 10 to 40 pounds. Frequently requires bending and reaching above shoulder level. Possible travel to other offices or into the field is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Employee may be subject to call-in outside of regularly scheduled work hours, or required to be on call, including on nights, weekends or holidays, to respond to emergency management activities or other incidents requiring rapid response in support of District operations.

The District will determine eligibility for employment solely from the information provided on a District employment application. Applicants who are within 30 days of graduation, if selected are not allowed to start until all minimum qualifications are met.
This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, out of the Brooksville, FL office. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked over 40 hours, in a week.
