Job Description

Leads Elan’s partnership development efforts with Regional (mid-scale) market bank and credit union prospects.   This role overseas the team’s day-to-day efforts in prospecting, messaging and signing new Elan credit card partners in this market.  Elan offers an outsourced agent credit card program to over 1,200 financial institutions today.  Thru Elan’s ongoing investment in technology and product, additional growth is expected over the next 5+ years.  
The role will oversee and administer the creation of sales goals, sales messaging, partner targeting and proposal delivery.  The leader will manage 4 sales professionals with a primary focus on credit card opportunities but also with referral functions into other USB product teams.  Pipeline management expertise will be a key contributor to this role’s success – focused on short-term closing activities (pricing, contracts and diligence) and longer-term pipeline building functions (cold calling, lead generation strategy, relationship deepening).  This sales leader is expected to have a deep knowledge of financial institution sales, the ability to motivate others and a strong strategic insight to driving success into the future.  
This role will report into the National Sales Manager.  This sales leader is expected to have a knowledge of financial institution sales, the ability to motivate others and a strategic insight to driving success into the future.  Success in role highly dependent on a deep knowledge of the agent credit card industry, credit card portfolio M&A, sales leadership experience, and the ability to partner deeply with and influence external organizations.  The role is ultimately responsible for managing the Regional Market sales team to expected performance levels and production.


Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree or greater
•    7 or more years of Financial Institution Sales and Client Management experience


Preferred Skills/Experience:
•    Solid knowledge of sales management, sales practices and client management engagement tactics
•    Strong executive presence and communication skills
•    Excellent management, leadership and communication skills - Prior experience managing sales functions referred 
•    Comfort with pipeline management expectations and delivery
•    Complete knowledge of financial institution space and financial institution approach towards consumer lending products.  Excellent competitive analysis assessment skills
•    Good knowledge of credit card P&L and banking P&L/Profitability measures
•    Well developed written and verbal communication skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00
