The Position

OPSWAT is looking for a Corporate Communications Specialist to join our fast-growing company to help design and execute our global external communications strategy focused on expanding awareness of the OPSWAT brand around the world. The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for proactively securing positive media coverage about OPSWAT and its products and services. This role offers the opportunity to apply what you have done in previous and current jobs as well as to continue to learn and grow and make an impact on OPSWAT’s story.

The Corporate Communications Specialist will report directly to the Senior Corporate Communications Manager and be part of the greater global marketing team.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Work with Sr. Corporate Communications Manager and other team members on developing and executing the annual corporate communications plan that informs our external narrative and supports a variety of activities with media and analysts, customer-facing events and speaking opportunities
  • Research and craft written materials, including media pitches, briefing documents, bylines, presentations, blogs, website pages, industry award applications and company newsletters
  • Manage queries from regional, national, and international media, working with experts and PR agencies to secure media coverage
  • Manage and contribute to communications and meetings with external and internal partners
  • Help manage the editorial calendar, track deadlines and media mention that advance OPSWAT’s corporate narrative with our key audiences
  • Assist Sr. Corporate Communications Manager by tracking corporate communications deliverables and data to ensure programs are achieving measurable goals
  • Support VP of Marketing & Communications in any additional tasks as needed
  • Attend tradeshows, company events and conferences as needed

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications, and a solid understanding of marketing communications and PR measurements.
  • Ability to create innovative communications plans for product launches, events and campaigns, thinking outside the box.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the abilities to understand technology and translate it into easily to digest language, mine for great stories as well as turn ideas into compelling narratives and crisp messaging.
  • Knack for repurposing content into other content types for distribution in various channels.
  • Experience in cybersecurity and/or at a PR agency are a plus.
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships and work across different groups and levels of hierarchy – executive management, employees, media, and the larger community.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communications skills and a spirit of collaboration.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Solid knowledge of and comfort with using AI tools.
  • Experience in at least one PR software platform such as Muck Rack, Cision or Meltwater.
