Job description

This is a remote position.

An exciting financial advisory disruptor is seeking a part-time, remote B2B Strategic Partnerships Lead for approximately 3 days per week, working 3–4 hours a day. The company is building a platform that connects clients with objective, commission-free financial advisors, focusing on genuine advice rather than product sales. With a rapidly growing South African client base and a mission to restore consumer trust in financial planning, the business is redefining the traditional advisory model. To support the next phase of growth, they are looking to appoint a skilled Business Development professional—primarily a "farmer" who is also comfortable with some "hunter" responsibilities—to expand and nurture channel partnerships and drive national expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an active pipeline of approximately 15-20 existing and prospective B2B channel partners.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with partner leadership, sales teams, and client-facing staff.
  • Present, position, and train partners on the company’s financial planning offering to enable effective client referrals.
  • Structure and negotiate revenue-sharing agreements (e.g., 50% first month; 10% months 2-12).
  • Facilitate smooth deal closures, manage partner onboarding, and ensure partner satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new partnership opportunities to drive subscription growth.
  • Provide regular reporting and feedback to leadership.
  • Operate with high autonomy while collaborating closely with the founder and core team.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Ownership Mindset: High agency, self-starter, and proactive in driving outcomes.
  • Strong Relationship Builder: Enjoys client interaction and engages comfortably at leadership and sales team levels.
  • Excellent Communicator: Confident in presenting solutions and negotiating agreements.
  • Mid to senior-level experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or account management.
  • Financial services industry experience is helpful but not required.
  • Comfortable working independently in a virtual-first environment.
  • Tech-savvy and able to work effectively via remote tools and virtual meetings.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to grow with the business.
