DESCRIPTION: 

The Vice President, Retail Sales is responsible for leading the execution of the company’s strategy to drive new revenue growth with Finlays in extracts through new and existing channels, across the our global Finlays Solutions network. This role leads a hybrid sales team and ensures alignment across key regions, with a focus on the North American market.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Drive for Results: Consistently deliver against assigned metrics for new revenue growth as determined by annual goals, ensuring success across assigned Sales teams supporting Retail focused customers. 
  • Channel Strategy & Customer Prioritization: Work with Marketing to develop strategies and performance metrics for key segments and customer groups. Identify and develop new business opportunities and relationships across Retail customer base to achieve increased revenue and profitability. 
  • Segment Customers: Segment customers into optimal books of business to build a sustainable market coverage model, incorporating fact-based and strategic insights to assess classification and corresponding resources across all responsible regions. 
  • Customer Engagement: Build positive relationships with strategic Retail customers across the globe and within the enterprise (Marketing, Procurement, R&D, etc.) to create long-term value and win new business opportunities. 
  • Field Execution: Drive best-in-class execution at the field level through the performance management mindset of the assigned sales teams and any external partners. Responsibilities include advising on the overall route to market strategy, agency partner selection, and management across all regions. 
  • Revenue Management: Lead the Retail Sales team to achieve the best and most profitable sales opportunity pipeline in the marketplace. Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial Operations & Finance on pricing, trade, and up-sell/cross-sell initiatives. Influence across internal business functions to exploit new opportunities and bring desired product solutions to market. 
  • Talent Development: Lead the recruitment, motivation, and development of Sales professionals who can deliver sustained revenue growth. Instill a culture of accountability, empowerment, performance, and teamwork to achieve the goals of the organization across all regions. 
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure alignment of business performance with cross-functional partners through participation in annual planning. Act as the customer expert in multi-year strategic planning and development of annual operating plans, with emphasis on Retail customers. 
  • Customer Issue Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for customer issue resolution. Work with internal stakeholders and cross-functional team members to resolve issues.  
  • Budget Management: Effectively plan and monitor the use of T&E and budgets across the Retail Sales team. 
  • Event Participation: Attend key customer conferences, meetings, and business reviews. 
  • Other: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Preferably in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or similar fields.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in senior commercial roles demonstrating success in driving revenue growth through leadership of direct sales teams and brokers. 
  • Position Experience: Extensive retail industry knowledge, with Direct, Broker, and Hybrid sales management experience is required.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership position within the food and beverage industry. Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse, remote team effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong sales planning skills and experience with enterprise CRM systems, Salesforce preferred.
