Position Summary
The Partnership Coordinator supports Uplift Oregon’s mission to deliver high-quality benefits education to Oregon state employees through labor-management Trusts. Reporting to the Director of Uplift Oregon, this role is responsible for leading outreach and engagement strategies with state agencies and union partners, managing seasonal program coordination, and supporting strategic initiatives such as DEI and career mobility. This role serves as a key connector between Uplift, labor unions, and agency stakeholders.
Essential Functions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with union partners (e.g., SEIU, AFSCME), state agencies, and member leaders.
- Lead planning and outreach efforts to align with Uplift’s participation and program goals.
- Represent Uplift in meetings with union partners, employee resource groups (ERGs), and equity-focused communities.
- Collaborate with RISE and Uplift leadership to define and support shared initiatives.
- Plan and coordinate seasonal benefits workshops (January–June), including logistics and materials.
- Troubleshoot registration and access issues with agency partners.
- Analyze feedback through partner surveys to inform program improvements.
- Deliver orientations to HR staff, union reps, and new partners about Uplift’s offerings.
- Promote program participation and understanding through tailored presentations and onboarding materials.
- Support outreach for Understanding Your Benefits (UYB) sessions and help increase attendance.
- Be curious, generous, open-minded and enjoy working as part of a team
- Serve as a backup facilitator and provide support for UYB webinars, ensuring smooth execution and participant engagement.
- Maintain and update contact databases in Salesforce; coordinate with IS and Communications teams.
- Contribute to content planning for newsletters and communications targeted to partners and leadership.
- Help define processes for regular communication and engagement cadence.
- Support DEI initiatives by offering tailored resources and facilitating inter-agency collaboration.
- Provide coordination support for the Career Mobility initiative, including meetings and outreach.
- Promote inclusive engagement strategies that center diverse communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQ, and multilingual employees.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strategic thinking and sound judgment in fast-paced and evolving environments.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and serving public employees with respect and integrity.
- Comfortable working collaboratively across teams and with multiple external partners.
- Proficient with Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, and Google Suite.
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and travel in-state.
Experience
- Proven experience in organizing, outreach, or partnership coordination in a labor, trust, or nonprofit setting.
- Familiarity with Oregon state agencies, labor unions, and public sector stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating meetings, leading engagement events, and promoting educational programs.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid in or near Portland, OR (Flexible Work from Home Model)
- Requires very limited physical exertion
- Readiness to work occasional long hours, including weekends, as needed.
- Ability to travel between worksites and/or meeting locations within Oregon.
- May require occasional overnight travel.
