Position Summary
Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Total Rewards develops, implements, and administers the job classification and compensation programs across National University. Provides integrated advice, leadership, and collaboration to Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) and HR leadership on a wide range of compensation-related issues. Sustains and ensures consistent program application, including base pay, merit, and incentive programs. Recommends and proposes updates and changes to current programs with attention to internal and external equity. Ensures the compensation program and processes follow federal and state laws.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with HRBP and HR leaders on a variety of projects, including compensation program design, job analysis, job description evaluations, budgeting, and implementation of new programs. Provides analytical and data management collaboration in support of ongoing compensation initiatives.
- Partners with HRBP and leaders to provide consultation on strategic compensation management, organization and job design supporting Business Unit goals, objectives, and initiatives.
- Manages the annual merit compensation planning process including planning, salary range review, developing appropriate processes and workflows, pay equity studies and related compensation projects.
- Proactively monitors and analyzes trends and issues related to compensation programs and external market; performs financial analysis as needed to develop recommendations that supports the business strategies and needs.
- Partners with HR Technology Team to ensure compensation needs and updated changes reflect in Workday.
- Participates in various compensation projects and provides guidance and support to other Analysts.
- Lead the design and development of various compensation-related training courses and resources for Human Resources and Management Essentials. Collaborate and partner with the Organizational Talent and Development (OTD) team.
- Ensures HR data integrity with respect to compensation by performing routine audits to job profiles, salary structures, etc. Communicates and corrects data discrepancies as necessary.
- Conducts and research market data to evaluate the market value of jobs within the organization. Makes recommendations on appropriate pay grade level.
- Oversees pay structure, pay grade, and salary administration guidelines.
- Evaluates and determines Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status and sustains appropriate documentation regarding analysis. Reviews job classification and reclassification requests, quality controls the job classification process for both existing and newly created positions.
- Participates, prepares, and submits the annual compensation surveys.
- Ensures compliance with the Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
- Oversees database of all job descriptions according to standard functional areas.
- Develops and documents processes and/or procedures for continuous improvement and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Mathematics, or related field, required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Five+ years of compensation relevant work experience.
- Five+ years of experience in analyzing, designing, and administering compensation programs.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour and equal pay regulations.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, business acumen, independent thinker, customer service, attention to detail, follow-up and follow through.
- Ability to demonstrate sound awareness and business insight, applying this to human resources and compensation.
- Demonstrates high integrity in maintaining sensitive data.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with experience presenting recommendations to internal and external key stakeholders/leaders.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, and HRIS system.
- Workday knowledge and experience are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general Human Resources policies and practices.
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities/projects.
- Strong ability to actively seek opportunities to consult, influence, build and sustain successful relationships and gain alignment with peers, functional partners and/or external partners to accomplish business objectives.
