Are you an experienced User Experience Design Leader who's driven by crafting intuitive and problem-solving educational technology that improve people's lives? Are you are inspired by customers and work to understand their problems and ideate on ways to tackle them? Are you passionate about creating research-backed, user-centered products and can build the process, culture, methods, tools, and metrics needed to deliver amazing experiences? If so, this role is for you! As the User Experience Design Director you will bring both the art of design and the science of human interaction to challenge the status quo and deliver unparalleled educational experiences.   

What you'll do here:

  • Lead and provide creative direction across a team of designers and engineers in product, visual, interaction, and service design skills, that communicates "big picture" thinking with systems thinking, design visioning and journey mapping

  • Collaborate on strategic design opportunities that drive product and business strategy

  • Engage deeply in the details of the work, while inspiring and energizing designers to deliver intuitive, innovative, striking and thoughtful solutions for our end users

  • Drive the design strategy and continue to evolve to our future vision.

  • Mentor, cultivate and develop UX talent to empower the team to stay apprised of industry changes, constantly learn, and grow as individuals

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, UX research, and others to prototype and develop outstanding user experiences   

Skills you will need here:

  • You have proven experience leading and growing a design team.

  • You have 8-10 years experience creating compelling web applications, responsive or native apps, and ecommerce applications at an agency or in-house corporation.

  • You can evangelize the scale and value that design systems, tools, and processes provide to technology leaders.

  • You have built your design decisions on high-quality qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

  • You embody best-in-class user-centric design thinking, have unflagging curiosity and creative energy to achieve outstanding customer experiences

  • You have a passion for leading people and cultivating a creative environment that enables success through working together.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially experienced with executive-level communications.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$138,200.00 - $160,000.00 USD
