As an HR Business Partner, you will collaborate closely with our organization to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive HR People Agenda that aligns with our business goals. Your efforts will ensure the achievement of key deliverables that support both our Business and Divisional HR Strategy. A crucial aspect of this role involves building strong and credible relationships with senior management, understanding business performance, and addressing commercial requirements to drive continuous improvement in all people-related areas.
What you'll be doing:
- Understand the profile of your designated business area, the strategic goals, and develop, agree and deliver an operationally aligned People Plan, in conjunction with Divisional HR Strategy, to support business aims.
- Partner and collaborate with senior management teams, as well as internal and external delivery partners, to provide pragmatic and viable solutions to bring the people agenda to life as a highly credible and trusted business partner.
- Participate in key strategic projects providing strong project management and technical HR expertise.
- Facilitate and support on driving a culture of a 'great place to work', including contributing to the Inclusion and Diversity Agenda, to deliver high employee retention, embedding and upholding our EVP and being the voice of our workforce where needed,
- Suggest, apply and embed best practice principles, and HR interventions, in line with operational goals, utilising MI and key performance metrics.
- Facilitate initiatives to attract, develop, engage and retain talent in line with the Strategic Workforce Plan. Work alongside the Talent team to ensure appropriate plans are in place to meet the SWP, attract high calibre candidates and meet the needs of the business.
- Collaborate with the L&D, Communications, and Talent teams to ensure that content and delivery is in place to meet the needs of the business.
- Educate the business regarding current and forthcoming employment legislation, and wider people updates such as corporate initiatives, industry trends and government thinking.
- Support engagement with multiple trade unions to encourage partnership working & engagement.
- Lead redundancy and transformation programmes and engage the people workstream for strategic transactions (sales/ bids, TUPE transfers, acquisitions, disposals) including coordinating internal stakeholders and building effective working relationships with our client' partners, undertaking comprehensive due diligence, assessing risk and making commercial recommendations. Conduct consultation with employees and their representatives and lead the on-boarding or off-boarding employee activity to create a positive employee experience.
- Provide commercially focussed advice and support to managers on complex employee relations/ET/ACAS issues in line with company procedures including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, ill health capability and sickness absence management (long and short term). Act as point of escalation for HROP on difficult cases.
- Seek commercial resolutions to employment tribunals and manage relationships with solicitors and ACAS, instigating and managing settlement agreements where required.
What we're looking for:
- CIPD Qualified to Chartered Status or equivalent proven record of vast HR operational experience.
- As a HR Business Partner, you will need to be a true HR generalist and have worked within a commercial, fast-paced multi-site environment with extensive HR operations experience.
- Advanced knowledge of employment legislation and forthcoming legislative changes and there application.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. The ability to explain complex problems with clear solutions and associated costs/ implications is essential.
- Must be comfortable presenting to a senior level audience.
- Ability to find pragmatic solutions to complex problems which meet the needs of the business and support our overall EVP.
- Ability to develop strong and trusted relationships with key stakeholders to support and enable strategic business goals.
- A strong influencer, with the ability to provide credible, pragmatic and commercial solutions to business problems.
- The ability to deal with conflict situations, demonstrating resilience and a high degree of HR technical knowledge to educate and guide senior managers.
- Experience working in conjunction with delivery partners and managing multiple stakeholders (including trade unions) across a multi-layered organisation.
- Ability to use analytical data for decision making.
- Ability to manage a high demand workload and prioritise effectively in time-bound situations.
- Ability to work independently, as a proactive member in the business and HR team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and HR Information Systems
- Ability to work flexibly over a wide geographical area (where required,) and experience of working in a multi-site/mobile capacity.
Desirable
- Experience of working in complex structures and organisations where delivery of the people proposition is enabled through the influencing of internal suppliers to deliver a positive change within the business.
- Intellectual curiosity to bring external and internal insights to the business, preferably in a multicultural environment (thinking outside the box)
- Experience managing large complex change management programmes.
