Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Responsible for general administrative and support services for the Ancillary Services Department, paid vs expected and other assigned tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides support services to the Ancillary Services Department for paid versus expected.
  • Reviews paid versus expected data as assigned to identify claims not reimbursed as expected to identify the root cause of the issue.
  • Initiates, tracks, and resolves issues related to trended reimbursement issues.
  • Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of business processes and supporting services.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills when responding to questions and other inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Familiarity with Home Health and Hospice billing and collections as well as medical billing terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires minimal supervision and is self-directed, appropriately planning and organizing work tasks.
  • Knowledge of medical billing guidelines and criteria for reimbursement, including governmental payors.
  • Strong software skills, knowledge of all Microsoft products (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as office equipment to include copiers, fax machines, and other methods of electronic communication.
  • Demonstrates a desire to set and meet objectives and to find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks.
  • Ability to meet daily production goals set by manager, completing work accurately and within expected time frames.

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3+) years' experience in healthcare revenue cycle support.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel

Preferred:

  • Five years' experience in healthcare revenue cycle support

Degree of Travel:

  • Minimal degree of travel (0-25%).
