Job description

 

Working with the Ametek MRO Europe Business Units, the Business Development Director is responsible for driving the company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships, and expanding market presence. This role combines sales, marketing, and relationship management to build and maintain a strong client base, ultimately increasing revenue and enhancing the company’s market position.

The Business Development Director will:

 

Identify New Business Opportunities:

  • Research and analyse market trends, competitors, and potential clients.

  • Identify and approach new business opportunities and capabilities through leads, referrals, and networking.

  • Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers and expand the company’s reach.

 

Strategic Partnerships & Networking:

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with industry leaders, suppliers, and other key stakeholders in the aim of developing Authorized Repair Centre agreements.

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the company and build professional relationships.

  • Collaborate with other departments (marketing, product, and operations) to align efforts and develop joint strategies.

 

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the sales cycle and post-sales process.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, providing ongoing support and addressing any concerns.

 

Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Meet or exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Manage the entire sales process, including prospecting, meetings, presentations, negotiations, and closing deals.

  • Create proposals, negotiate contracts, and finalize agreements to secure business.

 

Market Intelligence and Reporting:

  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor strategies, and industry trends.

  • Provide regular reports on business development activities, sales pipeline, and revenue forecasts.

  • Track the effectiveness of business development strategies and adjust plans as necessary.

 

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with the VP Europe, the BU Managers, Sales, marketing, and product teams to align business development activities with overall company goals.

  • Assist in the development of marketing materials, presentations, and campaigns.

  • Share insights and feedback from clients to help improve products, services, and customer experiences.

 

Business Development Director Requirements:

  • Experience in the Aerospace MRO industry is essential

  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and long-term projects.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with digital marketing and various business development strategies.

  • Significant proven experience in business development, sales, or account management.

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in CRM software (SalesForce) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
