What You'll Do

The Director of Business Development & Licensing will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and licensing agreements to drive company growth. Reporting to the Director of BD, this role will work closely with various internal departments and external stakeholders to get partners interested in our pipeline programs and project manage licensing deals. This role is fully remote, based anywhere in the US/ Canada. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide sponsorship to work in the US/Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and licensing deals that align with the company's goals and objectives
  • Spearhead high-value enterprise sales initiatives, focusing on complex, 7-9 figure deals
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations and drive deals from initial contact through to closure
  • Support Corporate Development on the creation of one pagers and pitch deck to ensure proper messaging based on key learnings for engagement
  • Lead portfolio overview calls for licensing partnerships with the end goal of moving partners from due diligence to a term sheet
  • Be the POC for to ensure a smooth diligence process by making sure timelines are met, questions are thoroughly answered, and all necessary dataroom materials are available
  • Relay insights from partnering conversations to the team to inform deal and portfolio strategies
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform business development strategies and identify new growth areas

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience closing large-scale B2B deals (7-9 figures) with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding targets in complex, high-contract value enterprise sales
  • History of personal and professional excellence with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence C-suite decision-makers
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 10-20% of the time on behalf of Vial for conferences and other in-person events.
  • BioPharma/Biotech sales experience is desirable but not required
  • Proficiency with advanced CRM and sales engagement tools (i.e SalesForce, SalesNav, Outreach, Zoominfo, GONG)
  • Consultative, customer-first sales approach
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, ideally with experience in a startup or high-growth company.
