Job description

Social Work Partners are currently recruiting for a Children’s Social Worker within Bracknell Forest  who has an interest in working with children and families who are arriving from or have recently arrived from Ukraine. You must be registered with Social Work England to apply for this role.

You will be a practitioner who can engage with children and their parents/ carers, be reliable and provide stability and ambition for children and their families during the time they are working with us.

This role is for a qualified social worker that has current registration with Social Work England and experience of working within the legal frameworks that support our work.  You must have a commitment to facilitating better outcomes for children, be organised and skilled in effective engagement.

About the Role:

  • £30,984 – £35,336 per annum plus 11.5% Market Premia, £637 London Weighting, £963 Essential Car User.  £2,000 retention bonus payable following 12 months in post (if applicable)

This is a unique social work opportunity to be part of Bracknell Forest’s multi-agency approach to ensuring our authority is hosting families and children from Ukraine safely.

Previous experience of work with unaccompanied minors, refugees, or knowledge and experience of Ukraine culture, and or ability to speak Ukrainian would be very welcome but not essential.  What is essential is that you have a passion for providing good quality social work to children and families, that is aspirational for children and empowers recovery, enabling families to stay together where it is safe to do so.

We are a small and friendly local authority.  The leaders and managers know that it is vital for social care workers to have a secure physical and psychological base from which to be the best workers they can be.  As we continue our Covid recovery journey; our main priority is to provide our workers with a secure physical and psychological base from which to work safely and effectively.

If you are looking for a team that is inclusive, ambitious, and always learning, we’d welcome your application to join us and will consider applications on a 12 month fixed term or permanent basis.  If appointed on a permanent basis this would be on the understanding that the post would slide into a standard social work role after 12 months within one of our service areas or as and when Ukraine demand reduces.
