Job description

The expected salary range for this position is $103,800.00 - $121,955.60. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Overview

This senior analyst designs, implements, and maintains Compassion's global compensation programs in accordance with Compassion's global compensation philosophy. He or she ensures compensation programs and policies are administered effectively and in accordance with the organization's reward strategy. This senior professional recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems and reviews requests for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate salary grade assignment. This analyst formulates recommendations regarding salary structures, FLSA exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures. At this senior level, the incumbent leads or conducts major, complex projects and studies for multiple countries. Further, she or he often coaches and oversees the work of other specialists and related staff.

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Designs, analyzes, and maintains Compassion’s global salary structures and develops models and recommendations for global compensation programs. He or she must communicate concepts and plan details to employees at all levels of the ministry.
  • Evaluates competitive market pay levels for positions using standard evaluation techniques and develops proposed grade placement and/or pay in range.
  • Recommends vendors and specific survey options and oversees the process or gathers and submits data to complete vendor job salary surveys.
  • Oversees the global annual merit increase process including analyzing field office salary funding budget gap to target and tracking and reconciling merit program input from US and field locations.
  • Collects data about Compassion’s compensation program/pay levels and analyzes it to prepare reports and advise managers, gathers, and analyzes all necessary information to prepare compensation budgets and cost proposals, and responds to ad-hoc benchmarking requests for departments across the globe experiencing attraction/retention issues.
  • Conducts compensation compliance reviews, in any or all of the countries Compassion operates, to ensure adherence to compensation program guidelines, ensuring compliance with wage and employment laws, including reporting requirements and works with HR staff to ensure corporate compensation philosophy is maintained.
  • Develops and/or revises job descriptions to meet standards in clarity, uniformity, completeness, and format and participates in salary surveys conducted by third parties.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to other staff and advises and counsels HR, managers, and employees on compensation and other HR policies and procedures.
