The Trust Accounting Specialist position is remote within these states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, or WA
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Trust Accounting Specialist to support financial operations for multiple law firm clients. This position requires a strong understanding of trust accounting regulations, law firm financials, and the ability to manage multiple sets of books with precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile trust (IOLTA) and operating accounts in compliance with state bar rules
Perform accurate and timely three-way trust reconciliations
Manage general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll entries
Handle monthly and quarterly closings across multiple sets of books
Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports to clients within established deadlines
Utilize QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) and legal practice management software such as Clio, MyCase, or PracticePanther
Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, compliance standards, and accounting best practices
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or staff accountant experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
Hands-on experience with trust accounting and IOLTA compliance
Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with legal billing software
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet strict deadlines
Comfortable working in a performance-driven environment with frequent oversight and accountability metrics
Must reside in one of the following states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, or WA
