Job description

Finance manager – maternity cover (remote)

About the position

As the maternity cover for the Finance Manager of the German subsidiary of a multinational, this position will be responsible for all financial aspects of the German operation and is expected to analyse figures and make recommendations to regional and corporate financial management based on related determinations made from this analysis. As the German operations grow, this individual will be tasked with the development of a finance team equipped to manage the growth of the entity.

The Finance Manager will also be required to coordinate with corporate finance based in the US, and regional finance based in the UK, in order to help manage policies regarding capital requirements, treasury, taxation and local compliance issues, in addition to scaling the finance function in support of the growth of the entity.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain, interpret and deliver timely and accurate financial data including periodic US GAAP management results.
  • Oversee preparation of key monthly reporting deliverables including variance analysis and account reconciliations to uphold the integrity of financial records.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly cashflow forecasts.
  • Ensure and maintain consistency with global accounting policies and business processes, including the company’s risk management and internal control processes.
  • Supervise the statutory audit and financial statement preparation and filing process whilst working with external service providers.
  • Form a working relationship with the entity executives and global/regional leadership teams.
  • Manage the entity’s financial and accounting activities, liaising with Billing/Revenue, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, payroll team, as well as Sales operations, HR, Marketing, Legal, FP&A and work with management
  • Manage regulatory reporting process, including local government and tax authorities communications.
  • Own regional month and year-end close processes including commissions accruals process and related payments for the region.
  • Participate / drive finance related projects when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as requested during periods of high workloads and absences.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven ability to challenge the status quo and drive improvement through change.
  • Excellent organisational skills, adept at multi-tasking and delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Experience in the Fintech sector is desirable.
  • Proven working experience in a corporate office of a multinational corporation.
  • Proven ability of management across cultures and time zones.
  • 7+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels.
  • High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
  • Energetic, organised, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
  • Speak fluent German and English.


Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (CPA / ACCA from an audit background preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (German GAAP, US GAAP) and payroll rules/regulations.
