Job description

An exciting career as a Strategic Account Manager is available at Tessco! 

This is a remote opportunity.


Tessco is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to join our expanding team.  This role will be part of the Carrier National Accounts Team.  The role will have a heavy focus on managing and expanding our relationship with a key AT&T Turf vendor, as well as developing other named target accounts.


 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strategic sales plan for each target account, including total addressable market (TAM), serviceable addressable market (SAM), and market share analysis.
  • Target and create new customer opportunities by identifying key decision makers, executing on strategic sales plan and successfully positioning the Tessco value proposition.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com tools and Tessco systems to manage opportunities, track customer activity, and drive engagement.
  • Develop relationships with key manufacturers that represent opportunity within target accounts.

Customer-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop & manage strong, multi-level relationships across customer organizations, including Supply Chain, Sourcing, Finance, Engineering, and PMO.
  • Drive the strategy behind QBRs and collaborate with cross functional teams on data and messaging to be presented at QBRs.
  • Continue to sell the value proposition of Tessco within the various customer markets & organizations
  • Develop & manage relationships with regional market leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop a travel schedule to ensure regular engagement with both regional and corporate contacts.
  • Identify and act on margin improvement opportunities in partnership with Product Management and Solutions Development teams.
  • Identify opportunities outside of our existing business.  Develop action plans to capture this business for Tessco, while reporting regular progress updates to the Tessco leadership team.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the wireless industry required; experience with AT&T Turfs strongly preferred
  • 5-10 years sales experience, ideally selling into carrier ecosystem
  • Strong relationship building skills on the phone, virtually and in-person.
  • Articulate, persuasive and influential communicator with high level active listening skills.
  • Strong strategic account planning and consultative selling competencies.
  • Professional presentation skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or significant relevant experience.
  • Track record of successful revenue and profit generation year after year.
  • Working knowledge of MS word, excel and power point.
  • Experience using a CRM system
